The Art of Knots: Symbolism and Craftsmanship
For thousands of years, knots have been part of our cultural history—they have been used for counting, communicating, and creating beauty.
In this workshop, we will explore the history, origins, and symbolism of various knots, as well as their practical applications and artistic significance. After a theoretical introduction, you will learn how to tie knots that you can use in creative projects such as jewelry making, home décor, gift wrapping, and more.
At the end, you will take home a board of your own handmade knots. The workshop is open to everyone and requires no prior knowledge.
Your instructor, Dörte, is a Berlin-based textile artist and founder of California Dreaming. With nearly ten years of experience, she is excited to share her knowledge and passion for fiber art with you.
